I've saved some of my favorite miniatures in the newest D&D Miniatures set for this last preview. That wasn't easy -- there are a lot of good miniatures in the set. I like how the themes of the set came out in the end -- demons, goblinoids, and the Elemental Chaos are all favorites of mine.

I think the most versatile huge miniature in the set is the Goristro. This level 19 Elite Brute will see use in many higher paragon level adventures or low epic tier. For more options, see Logan Bonner's "Big Trouble" article. The article features additional stat blocks for almost all the huge miniatures in this set, including two additional Goristro stat blocks: a level 13 Solo Brute and a standard level 25 Brute. This provides encounter building options that span nearly two tiers of play! If the concept behind the Goristro doesn't interest you, you could use it as a huge minotaur or as Baphomet, the Level 28 Solo Brute found in Manual of the Planes.

While it may be a little late for most people running Keep on the Shadowfell, Legendary Evils features Irontooth, the first named villain met in many people's introduction to 4th edition. When you get a chance, check out the detail on his chain armor -- it's fantastic! This rare miniature is great for a leader of a squad of one of the commons in the set, the Goblin Cutter. I think these two figures may be the best goblins ever!

D&D Insider members saw the last two miniatures earlier in the month in Bill's Ampersand article. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Dragonlance campaign world, Legendary Evils has the Sivak Draconian and the Aurak Draconian. These rare miniatures are the first draconian miniatures seen since 2003's Dragoneye set. You'll be able to find monster statistics for all the draconians in the upcoming Draconomicon: Metallic Dragons book. Enjoy!

That's about it for the Legendary Evils set. I'm sure you'll love them! Keep an eye on August and Beyond for the last remaining figures to be previewed. I'll be back in a couple of months with a first look into the next Monsters set, Savage Encounters!
