World of Warcraft Miniatures set 2, Spoils of War, is going to hit stores on May 5. Even though that's still over a month away, it’s well worth the wait. While you're waiting, don't miss the mini previews that we will be unveiling every Tuesday and Thursday until the release date! You can find the previews under the 'Featured Miniature' section on the front page, or by checking the Mini Gallery.

The pursuit of epic gear fuels the addiction of 11 million online players, so we hope to entice you into grabbing some gear for your favorite party members. Spoils of War marks the introduction of new equipment cards, and promises to be a powerful addition to your favorite Core Set minis.

Also debuting in Spoils are channeled spells. For those who don’t play the online game, imagine casting a fireball by way of a fire hose. Channeled spells keep delivering the heat tick after tick. But they aren’t all damage spells—imagine healing a party member tick after tick. More on channeling is on its way in a future article as well.

The first thing that most players do when they open boosters of a new set is look for guys who might fill in a gap in their current favorite party. For Horde players, look for the stealthiest Rogue you’ve ever seen and a Legendary character who can knock his enemies off the board faster than anyone. The Alliance can look forward to a Shaman who can subtract ticks from each party member and a Hunter who can bring his pet back to life without so much as a dog biscuit. Blood Elves and Draenei get some love with their racial abilities, usable by any member of that race in the party.

Speaking of races, the Monsters are defined by them. Demons and Ethereals get the most action, but you’ll also find Sea Creatures, Beasts, and plenty of others. Demons don’t mind taking damage. In fact, sometimes they damage themselves or their allies just to gain power. Ethereals are masters of teleportation and making sure that they leave every confrontation having made a profit.

No matter what sort of strategy you prefer or what you’ve played in the past, there is sure to be something in Spoils of War that will grab your attention and give you some new party ideas. Individual card previews are on their way, so keep checking back here for the latest.
